Audience: Teens-adults
Purpose: To show how most of our lives revolve around celebrity activity
Most of Western society seem to be too focused around the personal lives of celebrities. Why else would there be an article fussing about Madonna falling off her horse than to feed this hungry star frenzy society. The question is, why do people give a crap about this stuff in the first place? It's just useless, boring information that has nothing to do with our lives, yet some are so desperate to get the scoop on all the dirt about people they don't even know. It's pathetic, especially when the main topic of the "issue" goes off topic due to lack of information.
For example, Yahoo News Canada states that her horse was startled by the paparazzi who had jumped our form the bushes in front of her to snap so pictures, causing her top fall off the horse. However, a photographer named Thomas Hinton stated that the only photographer present was Steven Klein, and that he himself only photographed a picture of her before and after the incident. Without even knowing what really happened, the article jumps to a topic about Madonna's past experiences with horses and how she was thrown from a horse in England in the summer of 2005. Then it goes on about her personal life, that she couldn't adopt a three-year-old girl from the southern African country and how she and her husband were getting a divorce. All went on through my mind while reading this was who cares? I don't care. Why am I wasting my time when I could be getting ready to go to my Judo class?
Stuff like this goes on everyday. You have your Entertainment tonight and your E-Talk daily junk. It's just annoying. Why do we have to have these celebrities' lives constantly rubbed into our faces when we could be looking at other issues around the world that have something to do with our lives? It's just really grinds my gears when I see articles like this being sold out to the public all the time.
