Father sells daughter

The father of child actress Rubina Ali from "Slumdog millionare," Rafiq Qureshi denied selling his daughter after a British newspaper reported him putting her up for adoption at a price up to 400,000 dollars. According to the Indian media Qureshi was lying because he accepted a meeting at a Mumbai hotel with a wealthy Arab sheikh who offered a price for his daughter. However, this man was really a reporter at the weekly tabloid, claiming that Queresh demanded 20 million rupees for his daughter during the meeting. In response to this, Queresh said that the wealthy man was trying to convince him to sell his daughter, saying he would offer her "a lot of benefits" and that "it would be good for her." But then his wife, who is seperated from him says that she heard form their eldest sister that he was planning to sell their daughter two weeks ago. This whole story raises a controversy of who is telling the truth and who is lying.

It wouldn't make sense that Queresh would want to sell his daughter for money considering the film she was in made 8 oscars. Although there are some people who greedy and hungry for more than what they have. Selling your own flesh and blood would be too low. However, I still find it suspicious that Queresh would decide to meet up with the "wealthy arab man" if he didn't want to sell his daughter in the first place. a lot of benefits. On the other hand, why would a British reporter disquise himself as an Arab sheikh who wanted to buy his daughter? The reporter could have planned this meeting to expliot the father. The wife could also be lying as well. Considering she and her husband are split up, we don't know her intentions towards him. She could be using this opportunity fo personal revenge.
